Sofie Royer
While Berlin-based artist Sofie Royer’s looks give L.A. Apparel models a run for their money, her dreamy vocals and aesthetics solidify her as one of my absolute it gals (non-derogatory) of 2024.
A friend and Instagram mutual introduced me to her music video for “Baker Miller Pink” in 2022, and she’s since been periodically rotating as my BGM when I want to squeeze out some creativity.
The song and titular color served as inspiration for the illustration up top, and the results are off by a few shades—giving more of a stinging hot pink. Alas, according to studies on American prisoners subjected to Baker Miller Pink over long periods of time (?ok), it is allegedly the most calming color.
